Key Account & Product Manager

The successful candidate will be the primary relationship manager for a key customer. This customer is a UK based challenger food brand, in a rapid growth sector, operating in both food-retail and foodservice markets.

The Job

  • Act as the primary relationship manager for the key customer, and manage their portfolio of products

  • Identify opportunities for growth with the key customer by understanding their sales channels.

  • Interpret the customer’s product briefs and work with our internal commercial team, prior to trialling, on costings and feasibility proposal.

  • Manage product development process, including sourcing materials, development timelines and creating product technical documentation.

  • Ensure products developed are fit for purpose, and the best they can possibly be.

  • Manage the process from concept, to bench trials, and pilot factory trials in a timely manner. Feeding information into the relevant stakeholders, internal and external, so critical paths are developed and maintained.

  • Work with operations team to ensure ongoing supply of high-quality products that comply with product specifications, food safety and legality requirements.

  • Collate and analyse critical success and quality criteria for products.

  • Present ongoing growth projections to internal team on a fortnightly basis to ensure operational team meet ongoing demand, including short, medium and long term perspectives. 

The Person

  • Degree or 3rd level qualification.

  • Experience working within the Food Industry preferred

  • Proven track record of building relationships with customers

  • Evidence of managing projects with multidisciplinary elements

  • Good interpersonal and communication skills

  • Commercially focused

  • Evidence of strong organisational, planning and time management abilities

  • Proven ability to provide solutions and deliver results while working independently and on own initiative

  • Awareness of profitability

  • Proficient in the use of word processing, spreadsheet and presentation software, e-mail and the internet

  • Able to work flexibly to ensure business needs are met

  • Able to travel when required
